Why We Started luxitrade SIA
We noticed something: most gardening guides ignore the Baltic reality. Short seasons. Frost in May. Soil that needs work. Gardeners here deserve better.
In 2021, we decided to change that. luxitrade SIA emerged from conversations with Latvian gardeners who were frustrated with generic advice. They didn't need tips for temperate climates — they needed practical solutions for their actual growing conditions . Cold winters that last until April. Unpredictable springs. Summer heat that's genuine but brief. These constraints aren't obstacles. They're the foundation of what makes Baltic gardening distinctive.
We've spent years documenting what works. Which plant varieties survive our winters without constant protection. How to build raised beds that retain warmth. The forgotten techniques from Latvian cottage gardens that our grandmothers knew instinctively. It's not revolutionary — it's practical, tested, and rooted in the soil we actually garden in.
Today, we're not just sharing information. We're rebuilding a tradition. Garden heritage that was nearly lost. We're proving that cold-hardy gardening doesn't mean settling for less. It means understanding your environment deeply and working with it, not against it.
